Flak Bait on the restoration shop floor!

I had a couple of hours to visit the NASM on 12/26 and had the wonderful treat of seeing B-26B Flak Bait laid out on the restoration floor at the Mary Baker Engen Restoration Hanger at the Udvar-Hazy Center of the NASM.

A fantastic piece of history finally will be whole once again. The nose section has been on display at the NASM on the Washington Mall since it opened. Many thousands of visitors managed to wear away the paint just aft of the plexiglass nose over the years.
